A Visionary Creative Breaking Boundaries
Alisa Alexander is more than a singer, songwriter, and author—she is a force of transformation, using her gifts to uplift, inspire, and empower. As a motivational speaker, recording artist, and creator of reflective journals and coloring books, Alisa channels her passion into projects that foster healing, self-expression, and personal growth. Whether leading worship, hosting transformative events, or crafting tools for mindfulness, her mission is clear: rest is resistance, and creativity is liberation.

A Creative Who Refuses to Be Defined by One Title
Alisa’s journey is marked by authenticity and boldness. While many creatives are encouraged to specialize in one field, she embraces all aspects of her artistry.
“I got tired of shape-shifting,” she shares. “I realized I didn’t have to be just one thing in one space. God gave me multiple gifts, and I choose to use them all.”
This philosophy has led to success across music, literature, motivational speaking, and leadership, proving that creativity knows no limits.
Rest as Resistance: A Movement Beyond a Coloring Book
Among her many projects, Rest as Resistance stands out as a personal love letter to Black women.
“We are constantly pouring into others—our families, our communities, our churches—often at the cost of ourselves,” Alisa explains. “This book is my way of reminding us that sometimes, the most radical thing we can do is step back.”
Filled with affirmations, intricate designs, and messages of self-care, Rest as Resistance is more than an activity—it is a call to pause, reflect, and prioritize well-being. Inspired by her mother’s wisdom—“The holiest place you can be is in your bed”—Alisa challenges the idea that success must come at the expense of self-preservation.
“Rest isn’t laziness,” she says. “It’s necessary.”
Healing Through Music: The Greater Remix
Music is at the core of Alisa’s journey. Having performed at Mega Fest, with the Grammy-winning Potter’s House Choir, and even in Kenya—where she sang in Swahili to thousands—her reach extends beyond borders.
Her latest single, The Greater Remix, set for release in February 2025, carries a powerful message of stepping into purpose and believing in what’s ahead.
“I needed a song that would push me to keep going,” she says. “This remix is about movement—not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally. It’s about believing in what’s next.”

Journaling as a Tool for Reflection and Growth
Alongside her coloring books, Alisa creates journals and workbooks designed to encourage self-reflection, clarity, and goal-setting. Journaling, she explains, is a powerful method of reclaiming one’s voice.
“When we put our thoughts, dreams, and struggles onto paper, we give ourselves permission to process, grow, and heal,” she says.
Her I Am A Champion Journal and Rest as Resistance workbook are among her most popular offerings, available on Payhip and Amazon.
A Legacy of Empowerment and Unapologetic Living
For Alisa, creativity is a tool for liberation. Whether through song, speech, or writing, she remains committed to helping Black women embrace rest, self-love, and radical joy.
Her work is deeply rooted in history, faith, and cultural preservation. She recently created You Are the Dream, a free coloring book inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., designed to spark intergenerational conversations about Black history.
“We cannot wait for others to preserve our history,” she says. “It’s our job to tell our stories.”

Words of Wisdom for Black Women in Creative Spaces
Alisa encourages Black women to trust their creative instincts and take action:
“Listen to yourself.” Your ideas are not random—they are divinely inspired.
“Start where you are.” Perfection is not required; forward movement is.
“Find your people.” Surround yourself with those who affirm and challenge you.
“Do it afraid.” Fear should not stop you—push through, and clarity will come.
